€42.95

Bialetti Pressofiltro French Cafetière with a capacity of 1000 ml. Good for eight delicious cups of coffee. Made by the famous Italian firm Bialetti.

The cafetière, or French Press, is an early form of slow coffee. Originally, it is a French brewing method, hence the international name French Press. In 1853, the first patent for the cafetière was filed by Messrs Delforge and Mayer from France. The current design was patented in 1929 by the Italian Attilio Calimani. Well-known brands are Bodum, Bialetti and la Cafetière. Because the brewing process occurs at the table, it can serve as an alternative coffee concept in the better catering industry. Furthermore, we often find the cafétière at the breakfast or brunch table or when travelling.

A full and powerful taste characterises the cafetière coffee. The coarse steel filter sieve lets extra taste substances (particles) through in the coffee. The cafetière is also suitable for brewing loose tea. Because the tea leaves have a lot of space to develop, this is an easy and tasteful way to make loose tea.

In these simple steps, you can make the tastiest cafetière coffee:

1. GRIND THE COFFEE BEANS

For the very best result, grind the fresh coffee beans just before use. Use a coarse and even grind. Do you not have a coffee grinder? We grind the coffee for you at the right grind just before dispatch.

2. PLACING THE GROUND COFFEE IN THE CAFETIÈRE

Place the ground coffee in the clean pre-rinsed glass container of the cafEtière. Use 7 grams of ground coffee for every 100 millilitres of water. This is equivalent to one tablespoon.

3. ADD HOT WATER

In the Netherlands, tap water is of excellent quality, but real baristas prefer filtered water (or Spa Blue) for the tastiest result. Let the boiled water cool down. Water that is added directly from the boil can burn the coffee. Next, pour the water evenly into the glass pot so that all the coffee particles are submerged. Fill the cafetière to the top and then place the lid on.

4. SET THE TIMER

Let the coffee brew for 3 to 4 minutes with the lid on the cafetière. After about one minute, coffee will come out from the rim of the cafetière. Stir this carefully with a spoon to give the coffee the proper extraction.

5. PUSH DOWN THE FILTER

After 3 to 4 minutes, press the steel filter down slowly and evenly.

6. SERVE IT!

The coffee is now ready to be served, preferably in preheated cups. Make sure you hold the lid firmly in place when pouring. Enjoy!
