Petrus' espresso mug without ear & saucer

€8.25

Porcelain espresso cup with porcelain saucer.

The new porcelain of Blanche Dael is inspired by the historical and industrial character of the new distillery in the Sphinx Quarter. The porcelain bears the name 'PETRUS'; a reference to the founder - Petrus Regout - of the Royal Sphinx in 1834.

THE PETRUS ENSEMBLE

The "PETRUS" ensemble consists of two sizes of cups made of clear, glazed, off-white porcelain. The cups are available with or without a 'handle' where the handle has a 'P' design - a nod to Peter.

The set includes one multifunctional 'plate' that serves as a coaster for all the cups or can be used as a lid for the larger cup. The cups and plates are stackable. The bottom is flat, polished and unglazed.

ARCHITECT JOSEF BISCHOFS

PETRUS" porcelain was designed by the architect of our new roastery, Josef Bischofs. The distillery's typical industrial, pragmatic and functional architectural style is recognisably reflected in the 'PETRUS' porcelain.

Josef Bischofs is director of the Maastricht Academy of Architecture, architect of the Blanche Dael coffee roastery and designer of Blanche Dael porcelain.

The Caffè Ristretto is his house coffee. As an architect, Josef is used to paying attention to every little detail. Also, when making coffee. Making a perfect cup of coffee sounds simple, but it is not. The coffee beans of Blanche Dael are carefully selected, roasted in a controlled way and delivered fresh. But that does not guarantee a perfect end product.

It starts with the mill. How many grams of coffee comes out of the mill, and how finely it is ground. The craft of brewing, tasting and evaluating. Only with the correct parameters do you make the perfect cup of coffee.

The art of brewing.
