EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS

- In 2006, we financed, in cooperation with Pimma, the construction of a primary school in Guatemala, a school named Escuela Blanche Dael, which we have been supporting in various ways ever since.

- Since 2017, we provide scholarships, in collaboration with the Efico Foundation, to 4 to 5 children to train as coffee farmers at the Las Flores coffee school in Guatemala.

- Escuela Blanche Dael also supports the school in emergencies. At the moment, we are working on the 'Virtual Education' project. Because we operate on a small scale, we know that every euro is well spent.

SCHOLARHIPS

Nine youngsters have graduated by now with the help of our scholarships: Ana, Augusto, Cristian, Erlick, Maydelin, Ramiro, Fredy, Javier, and Anderson. The last three received their diploma in December 2021 from Mireille, the president of Escuela Blanche Dael.

With great pride we would like to introduce four new students: Evelyn, Francisco, Luis and Raúl. They get the chance to graduate from the Las Flores Coffee school in Barberena, Guatemala. With help of the scholarships from Blanche Dael.

These four students grew up in coffee regions and would like to build their future as coffee farmer. The new generation is needed to maintain the coffee farming, meeting the challenge of the changing climate, and increasing demand for quality coffee.

We are happy that together with our partners Efico Foundation and Funcafe, we can make the education for the youngsters possible. We too benefit from ensuring that coffee quality is safeguarded in the future and that local coffee farmers get a fair price for their coffee.

Hopefully you drink the coffee that is farmed by the named youngsters in a few years: That would be fantastic!

Projecten Escuela

- Bijdrage aan Pimma voor de herbouw van Basisschool in San Martin Sacatepequez, Guatemala. Later is Escuela Blanche Dael gedoopt (2006).
- Schenking van vier PC’s met internettoegang aan Escuela Blanche Dael (2006).
- Schenking van schoolspullen en sporttenues voor alle 150 kinderen van de Escuela Blanche Dael (2020).
- Schenking van 130 tablets voor de kinderen van Escuela Blanche Dael om onderwijs voor hen mogelijk te maken ten tijde van Covid-19 (2021/2022).

Projecten Studiebeurzen Las Flores

- Vier studiebeurzen voor drie jongens en één meisje voor het volgen van de twee-jarige opleiding tot koffieboer in Barbarena, Guatemala (2018-2019).
- Vijf studiebeurzen voor twee meisjes en drie jongens voor het volgen van de twee-jarige opleiding tot koffieboer in Barbarena, Guatemala (2020-2021).
- Vier studiebeurzen voor één meisje en drie jongens voor het volgen van de twee-jarige opleiding tot koffieboer in Barbarena, Guatemala (2022-2023).

Projecten voor noodhulp

- Voedselhulp aan gezinnen van kinderen van de Escuela Blanche Dael vanwege de lockdown in verband met Corona (2020).
- Hulp aan slachtoffers van vulkaanuitbarsting (El fuego) in Acatenango, Guatemala (2018).
- Vanuit eigen circuit is er €20.000 opgehaald tijdens Corona voor voedselpakketten (2020).
- Donatie aan Homeless Child in Honduras na de orkaan Eta (2020).

Overige projecten

- Bijdrage aan Pimma voor de nieuwbouw van Escuela Avestruss, Guatemala (2008).
- Een 3-jarige financiering van alle kosten van een kleuterklas (2012).
- Een 3-jarige financiering van alle kosten van een basisschoolklas (2012).
- Schenking van twee PC’s voor Highschool in Quetzaltenango (2020).
